Assistant connection · troubleshooting
If connecting your assistant doesn’t work
Find the message you see, or what happened, below. If none fits, write to hello@bevizio.com with the assistant you used and roughly what time you tried. We can look up what happened on our side.
While connecting
“This request was blocked”, with “It did not come from the Bevizio connection page”
The connection was started in one place and finished in another, so Bevizio stopped it. Start again from your assistant and finish the steps in the same browser window. If it keeps happening, email us.
“This connection could not be started”, with “Bevizio does not recognise this assistant”
Bevizio couldn’t read the assistant’s details or didn’t accept them. Start again from your assistant. If it fails a second time, email us with the assistant’s name and the time. We record why a connection was refused, so we can usually tell you what went wrong.
Bevizio asks you to sign in first
That’s normal if you aren’t signed in to Bevizio in that browser. Sign in, and the page asks you to press Allow.
“This connection request has expired” or “is not valid”
A request lasts ten minutes and can only be finished in the browser it was started in. Start again from your assistant, and finish in the same window.
The page shows a message instead of an Allow button
- “The assistant connection is in a private beta and is not available for this account yet.” It isn’t switched on for your account. Email us.
- “Finish setting up your Bevizio account first.” Finish setting up your product in Bevizio, then connect again.
- “...part of the trial and paid plans, and this account has no active plan.” Choose a plan in Settings, then connect again.
- “The Bevizio subscription has ended...” Restart the plan in Settings and connect again. Your data is kept.
After connecting
Your assistant asks you to connect, sign in or authenticate again
That happens after you press Disconnect in Bevizio, and when a connection has gone unused for 30 days or reached its 90-day limit. Reconnect from your assistant: Claude shows “Reconnect”, Cursor shows “Authenticate”, ChatGPT asks you to connect the plugin again.
Your assistant says it has no Bevizio tools, or doesn’t use them
Check that Bevizio is connected and enabled in your assistant’s connector or MCP list, and approve the tools when it asks. In ChatGPT, type @ and pick Bevizio before your question, or name Bevizio in it. Start a new chat after connecting.
“Too many requests”
Wait a minute and try again. A normal conversation uses a handful of requests; a connection can make about 60 a minute.
The data looks old
The date of the newest answer is at the top of every reply that returns figures. If it is more than a week old, tell us.
The numbers differ from your dashboard
Open the answer’s link, or the dashboard’s Overview with the same period. Small differences can come from an answer collected between the two. A detected change counts only some answers, so its counts never equal a window’s totals. If a figure is far off, email us with the question you asked.
Changes made by your assistant
My assistant says it can’t change things
Allow it in Settings, under Connected assistants (Bevizio will ask you to sign in again first), then follow your assistant’s own guide: Claude picked up the permission about an hour after we saved it in our tests; ChatGPT needs its tool list refreshed; Cursor needs a restart. It only works for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor, with an active or trial plan. ChatGPT Pro has read-only access today (OpenAI’s help article, read October 19, 2026). A key can never change anything.
I see several rows for the same assistant
Every time you reconnect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, Bevizio makes a new connection and keeps the old ones. Each row has its own change permission, so switching one row back to read only does not stop the others. Settings shows “Make every Claude connection read only” (or ChatGPT, Cursor) when two or more rows of one assistant can change, and the page the emailed “switch it back” button opens says how many other rows of that assistant can still change.
ChatGPT shows a red warning
ChatGPT runs its own safety check and can show a “Suspicious Instruction” warning when the text of a request looks like an instruction, for example a note that says to ignore rules. Bevizio saves such a note as plain text and never acts on it. Read the box and choose whether to allow it. We also saw it once on an ordinary request on October 28 because of how one of Bevizio’s tool descriptions was worded; we have since reworded it and have not yet confirmed that the warning is gone. If you see it on a normal request, tell us.
A change was refused
The usual reasons are the daily limits below, your plan’s question limit (an assistant cannot raise it), or the text rules (no web addresses, email addresses or codes, including common spelled-out forms such as “dot com”; for a local business no area or service that is the business’s own name; and no alternative spelling that is very short, an everyday or company word, or one that would count many of your other answers as naming you). If you only want to put something back, ask the assistant to undo its last change: undo has its own allowance. Limits may change; this page is where we post changes.
Every limit counts changes in any 24 hours, per business, and all your connected assistants share it: three assistants do not get three allowances. A trial gets half (never below one).
| What an assistant does | Per day | Also |
|---|---|---|
| Add a question (product) | 10 (5 on a trial) | 40 in 30 days (20 on a trial); restores count |
| Archive, pause or resume a question; archive an area or a service | 10 (5) | |
| Change the alternative spellings | 3 (1) | at most 5 spellings |
| Add or remove a tracked competitor | 10 (5) | at most 5 competitors |
| Add an area or a service (local business) | 10 (5) | 20 in 30 days (10), and at most 40 new questions in 30 days (20); at most 10 areas and 5 services |
| Add or delete a note | 20 (10) | |
| Undo a change | 20 (10) | undo never uses up the total |
| All other changes together | 100 (50) |
Always: your plan’s question limit applies (20 on a trial, up to 75), and an assistant cannot raise it.
ChatGPT
You can’t find “Add custom MCP server”
OpenAI’s help page lists custom MCP connections for Business and Enterprise/Edu workspaces, and Pro with read-only access, on the web only. On Business, only an admin or owner can add one. It doesn’t list Free or Plus. See the ChatGPT guide.
A half-created entry that you can’t delete
ChatGPT may refuse to delete it (“Couldn’t delete plugin”). Installing that same entry again worked for us.
Calls fail after Bevizio changed something (Business and Enterprise/Edu)
ChatGPT keeps a snapshot of the tools from when an admin published the connection. If a tool changed in a way that isn’t backward compatible, an admin has to refresh the tool list in Workspace settings. ChatGPT doesn’t notify anyone.
Claude on a Team or Enterprise plan
An owner adds the connector to the organization first (Organization settings, then Connectors). Each member then connects to it from their own Connectors page. If you can’t add it yourself, ask an owner.
Back to the assistant page. How the numbers are collected, and what they can’t show, is on how we measure.
